Funwhole, the well-known Chinese manufacturer of brick sets, will be renamed Lumibricks in May 2025.
In recent years, countless new manufacturers of alternative bricks have entered the market. Mould King, Pantasy, and Funwhole are among the most popular and highest-quality. The latter announced some time ago that they would be changing their name.
This process will soon be completed. Funwhole today announced that they will rename the company to Lumibricks in May 2025. They are moving away from the name, which is often pronounced dirty (Funhole), to a more “luminous” name.

In their announcement on social media, they write.
We’ve got something thrilling to share — FUNWHOLE is upgrading to LUMIBRICKS! This change reflects our growing vision to inspire creativity and innovation worldwide. Just like light (Lumi) fuels imagination, we’re here to brighten the world of building, one brick at a time.
More passion, new name! You’ll soon see LUMIBRICKS across our products, website, and social media. Don’t worry — during the transition, both FUNWHOLE and LUMIBRICKS will be recognized to ensure a smooth shift.
Mark your calendars for our Brand Anniversary this May, when we’ll officially complete this transformation. Expect exciting activities, surprises, and a celebration you won’t want to miss!
Thank you for being part of our journey. Your support means everything, and we can’t wait to build an even brighter future with you — as LUMIBRICKS.
This is certainly exciting news. Funwhole is now an established brand name in the international brick building community. I’m curious to see if people will recognize the new name, Lumibricks.
Name Change Good Or Bad?
I find the name change welcome but find it challenging on the marketing side. The problem is that there are many companies, and new ones are being added every month.
There’s a risk that the name will get lost in the crowd and will not stay as long in people’s memories.
The only thing Funwhole or sorry Lumibricks need to do here is invest heavily in name marketing so that the new name will stick in the minds of the brick community just as the old one does.
The change is expected to be completed by May 2025. I look forward to the first boxes with the new name and logo.
