QLT Coffee House T2071 review: a low-budget mini modular building with 581 good-quality pieces and an inspired Ohsojang design.
Amazon, Alexpress, Temu… on the major sales platforms, you can find many alternative brick sets, from dirt cheap to expensive.
One set caught my eye: the QLT Coffee House T2071, which consists of 581 pieces.
QLT Coffee House T2071 Review
Even though you can buy it directly from China, I bought it from Amazon in Germany because it was the cheapest when ordering. Plus, it was just before Christmas 2024.
Unboxing
The set is delivered in a small, crammed box with illustrations of the set printed on both sides. It isn’t very high quality, but at least you can see what you’re getting. The box does not include information about the manufacturer or brand.
You probably recognize the design. It is very similar to the Mould King 16036 The Modern Cafe, which was created by the well-known designer Ohsojang. Here, the number is only significantly reduced from 2728 to 581 parts.
I bought it from QLT on Amazon. I can’t say whether this is just another random Amazon Marketplace seller or also the manufacturer.
What I can say is the price. I paid €17 for the set just before Christmas 2024. The QLT Coffee House T2071 fluctuates between €10 and €25 on Amazon.de. The day before Christmas, it was just 10€. In China, the set is available between €10 and €15.
Once unpacked, we had some plastic bags divided into three building steps, a LEGO-style orange part separator, and the instructions.
When I bought it, I wasn’t sure if the set was in mini brick format or made of normal-sized bricks. I can confirm that it’s a classic set, so it’s Lego-compatible.

Instruction
The box contains the assembly instructions. They are very thin, but no wonder, as the set only has 581 parts, and you often get 3-4 sub-steps on one page. However, the size and illustration are nice and comfortable to read.
Everything already built has been roughened out, and the rest is in color. But there is also a bad part. Yes, it also has a big sticker sheet. The amount stickers (12) par rapport the set size is pretty big.
Many details that make the set a coffee house are solved with stickers. Yes, that’s a downer. However, with a set of 17€, you can’t expect tons of prints, so I’m okay with it only having stickers. Enough warming up; it’s time to build the set.
Step 1
The first step was a quick affair. The brick quality is good but not as high as that of China’s premium brick brand, GoBricks, or the famous Danish company. They are somewhere in the middle range.
I wouldn’t necessarily use them to build MOCs or anything like that, but they are good and solid enough for this set so far.
In the first building step, we made the ground floor. You can already see that the QLT Coffee House T2071 set is a cute size compared to its big brother from Mould King. On the left is a takeaway with a beautifully built white arrow—so it’s a very American-inspired coffee house.
The first walls were also built with numerous windows. They are a bit milky and not very high quality. Then, the right wall with a very prominent pillar construction that brings a colorful accent to the set has already been built. In the Mould King set, it is dark brown, here orange.
Shown in a good light from the other side. A lot of white bricks were used here for the side wall.
On the back, you can see the first elements of the coffee house, including a counter and small details like cupcakes, coffee mugs, and more. Unfortunately, the decoration is a bit pale because no stickers were applied.
Inside, you can see two chairs with tables each. Everything is brick-built and straightforward. Construction techniques don’t always have to be super complex because such simple designs are always fun as well.
The interior looks like a cafe house and a hairdresser. I’m not sure what it is; it could also be a hybrid. Who knows what the designers were thinking? I like that everything on the ground floor is tiled. This gives it a lovely look and the tiles are of good quality.
Let’s move on to the second step of the QLT Coffee House T2071.
Step 2
In the second step, I built a lounge area with four brick-built sofas and a table each. Due to the size of the set, the whole thing looks a bit cramped.
The floor is tiled in the same look as the lower area. It looks pretty good, although it is a bit bright. Plus, there are two small, basic plant elements.
This was remodeled with additional windows and wall elements that create a slope on the side. In the attached picture, you can see how it looks when placed on the first element.
I’m not forgetting that a light brick has been mounted on the ceiling. It’s cool that there is one, but you don’t really notice that it’s on or off. So, it’s not a feature that needs to be pointed out.
The quality of the parts is still solid. There have been no part defects so far, such as incorrect molds or colors. Indeed, it goes that quickly; we are already at the last step.
Step 3
In the last step, I built another cozy seating area. Three chairs and a dresser-like table fill this area. Again, I must admit, the design and the decoration could suggest a coffee house seating area or a hairdresser’s salon.
The tile pattern and colors are continued here, too. It’s a lovely-looking last element of this mini modular building that also looks neat on a standalone basis.
Further, I built more wall elements in black in combination of white windows to complete this third section. The two large windows are milky, and that is intentional.
The top was also refined with black tiles, which were not of bad quality.
And I’m done. Here are photos of the finished QLT Coffee House T2071 set.

QLT Coffee House T2071 Review
All in all, for €10-20, you get a very nice, small mini modular that will keep you busy for 1-2 hours. The parts are not on the GoBricks or Lego level, but they are solid for the price.
I give the set two negative points: the stolen Ohsojang design in a mini modular format and the relatively large sticker sheet compared to the size of the set.
Pro
- good but not a premium brick quality
- solid instruction
- price
Neutral
- lightning brick
Contra
- not an original design (Mould King Coffee House designed by Ohsojang in mini)
- big sticker sheet compared to the size of the set
